NANAIMO HERITAGE WALKING TOUR

TOUR DESCRIPTION: Take a step
back in time for this leisurely heritage walk
through the City of Nanaimo, the third oldest
city in British Columbia. With your local guide
you will learn about Nanaimo’s colorful
past.
During this interpretive tour we'll visit the
historic "Bastion". Built in 1853 by
the Hudson's Bay Company, it has been used as
a fort, jail, store and a museum built without
nails, and it’s been moved three times!
It is the last one standing of it's kind.
There are three historic tours throughout the
downtown area. The Coal Connection, Harbour Connection
and Railroad Connection. During our walking tour
we will combine these three major historical routes.
TOUR DURATION: Two hours average
TOUR ITINERARY:
1.Meet passengers at point of pick up at pre-arranged
tour time suggested
2.Divide into groups of two or three
3.Depart for the walking tour
4. Our tour will come to completion returning
at the “Bastion”

Minimum persons: 4
Maximum persons: 50
Offering a morning and afternoon tour can double
capacity.
We will divide into groups of three averages
15 pax per tour guide in the past tour clients
we have divided the tours into:
- Easy: No stairs, for passengers
with walking difficulties, this is also a wheelchair
route,
- Medium: regular walking tour
with out stairs
- Medium Plus: regular walking
tour with stairs
TRANSPORTATION: No transportation
required for heritage walk
OPERATIONAL: Year Round, Daily,
Morning and Afternoon Tours, earliest
departure 10 am

Museum passes, Nanaimo Bar, Water bottle, Map
of City,
SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING: Comfortable
walking shoes with good tread, camera, hat, layered
clothing and dress for the weather.
